Dr. Shamim Shakibai - Entrepreneur and Healthcare Innovator

A Los Angeles, California, physician, Shamim Shakibai, MD, possesses extensive experience in the healthcare field. Among his accomplishments, Dr. Shamim Shakibai has launched three healthcare-related firms.

After working in multiple healthcare settings, Dr. Shakibai co-founded the hospitalist service Platinum Medical Group in 2010. The company served four hospitals in the Greater Los Angeles area until it was sold to Sound Physicians in 2020. In 2023, he became the CEO of MyPreOp, an innovative firm that specializes in standardizing pre-operative medical evaluations. This company streamlines the process by allowing patients to have their testing completed at home through telemedicine.

In 2024, Dr. Shakibai founded Priventa Health, where he currently serves as the executive director. This non-profit provides residents in Central and South America with access to primary care. His role involves organizing medical missions, leading fundraising efforts, and overseeing the quality of care and recruitment efforts.

Outside of overseeing these organizations, Dr. Shakibai serves on the board of Professionals Without Borders. He has also contributed greatly to starting a school in El Salvador, Colegio Tarbiyat.
